Keynote Speaker - Chris Latham

The Experience

Chris Latham is a true Australian Rugby Legend and makes for an entertaining and fascinating keynote speaker at any conference or function.

Originally from the northern NSW country town of Narrabri, Chris was raised as a soccer player and it wasn't until he was 18 that he first played rugby. Chris moved from the bush to Sydney in 1994 to join the Randwick rugby club and in 1997 made his debut for the NSW Waratahs. 

Whilst Chris did make his debut with NSW, he now considers himself a true Queenslander having played over 100 caps for the Queensland Reds. A truly gifted runner of the football, Latham has the ability to turn a game.  In the Super 12 for the Queensland Reds he has been consistently their best performer, and in turn has picked up the Australian Super 12 Player of the Year Award on three occasions – 2000, 2004 & 2005. 

Chris has achieved more than most professional rugby players dream off having won a Tri-Nations in 2000, Bledisloe Series wins in 2000 & 2001, voted Wallaby Player of the Year by his peers in 2000, a British Lions Series Victory in 2001 and two Rugby World Cup campaigns (1999 Champions & 2003 Final) and a Man of the Match performance at Twickenham in the South against North IRB Rugby Aid Match in 2005. In 2006 Chris won the highest individual award in Australian Rugby the John Eales Medal. This award means so much to the players as the award is voted on by there peers. 

Chris won in 2006 by a record number of votes 100 clear of his closest rival. This is a great reflection of the high regard Chris is held in by all. Away from the field, Chris is happily married with two children and has a love & passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. 

Chris would provide a breath of fresh air to pretty much any conference, he is a great speaker and has many fascinating stories about his career and the sacrifices he has made to get to the position he is in.
